For more transparency and networking in open science

In order to be uniquely identifiable and sustainably networked in the national and international science system, the association “Geistes- und kulturwissenschaftliche Forschungsinfrastrukturen e.V.” (GKFI) now has its own ROR ID.

Our unique identifier is:

https://ror.org/01qfmzg56

What is ROR?

The Research Organization Registry (ROR) is a global, community-driven registry for open, persistent identifiers (PIDs) of research organizations. ROR is operated collaboratively by the California Digital Library (CDL), Crossref, and DataCite. All records are freely available in the public domain under a CC0 license and are seamlessly integrated into international publication and repository systems. What ORCID is for researchers and the DOI is for publications, ROR provides for institutions and infrastructure facilities: it creates global uniqueness.

Why is this important for the GKFI e.V.?

With our own ROR ID, we ensure that the GKFI e.V. can be permanently and unambiguously addressed as an independent actor in scientific systems, for example, when tracking projects, funding, publications, or in the context of the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI).

How is the ID used?

We have now integrated the ROR ID into our legal notice (Impressum). The ID is available to members, partner institutions, and researchers to indicate their affiliation with the GKFI e.V. in a standardized way in publications, data publications, funding applications, and repositories.

You can find the official record of the GKFI e.V. directly in the ROR database at: https://ror.org/01qfmzg56
